For some, the meteoric rise of The Black Mafia Family; the crime syndicate founded in Detroit in 1985, may not have been known. That is exactly the story STARZ Entertainment and Executive Producer, 50 Cent, sought to bring to millions with the STARZ original series BMF.

In the late 1980s, two brothers from Southwest Detroit made a name for themselves on a global level despite coming from humble beginnings. Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory was charismatic and driven, whereas Terry "Southwest T" Flenory was business savvy and strategic. Together, this fraternal duo rose above their decaying surroundings to become part of one of America’s most notorious crime families – taking it far beyond just the drug trade to include an influence in the world of hip hop. This concept was to promote the season two premiere of BMF on STARZ by connecting two unlikely personas. NBA power forward, Zion Williamson and lead actor and son of the real-life co-founder of BMF Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory came together to tell their story of success, the importance of family, and tenacity.
