Alongside Alex Lovejoy, the Mill also gains incredible young talent, Basim Kadhim

As a new era begins, The Mill continues to build on its creative and innovative reputation as a partner to the world’s leading agencies and brands. Creating the extraordinary requires extraordinary people. The Mill has a lot of those, but a couple were missing…

Queue the return of award-winning creative director, Alex Lovejoy. After a brief time away, Alex is back where it all began. With 25 years experience across both MPC and The Mill, including a 10-year stint in New York, he returns to his roots with vigour.

Alex is an exceptional and highly respected talent with long-standing relationships with renowned directors like Megaforce, The Sacred Egg and Francois Rousselet. Over the last 20 years, he has been at the forefront of countless outstanding campaigns, including, Burberry ‘Open Space’, Easyjet ‘Hide & Seek’, and Burberry ‘Festive’, for which he was awarded a VES Award for Outstanding Compositing.

Alex commented on his return, saying, “It’s a fantastic time to be back at the Mil. We have new team members starting and clients that I have worked with for years are excited about the future.  The collaboration between the Mill’s global sites has never been stronger and I’m so excited to keep our internal and external relationships growing”.

Alongside Alex Lovejoy, the Mill also gains incredible young talent, Basim Kadhim. The latest addition to The Mill’s world renowned 2D team, Basim joins us having spent time at Black Kite Studios and Framestore. Not only is Basim a rapidly progressing compositor, but his extensive freelance photography experience makes him a dab hand on a set already!

Inspired by the likes of Megaforce and Hoyte van Hoytema, he hopes to work for global brands like Nike and Apple. Already getting stuck in and showing his capabilities, The Mill is extremely excited to have him with us.

We couldn’t talk about new faces in the London studio without mentioning the peoples favourite executive producer, Tom Cole. Joining MPC as a runner in 2009, Tom Cole is a seasoned member of The Mill team, and he returns to London after five years leading the charge in the Amsterdam location. Break-dancing chameleons for Berocca, HSBC commercials featuring Richard Ayoade, and global brands like Nike and Adidas. Tom has been at the forefront of award-winning campaigns, and he now looks forward to rekindling relationships with those in London’s ‘adland’.
