Appointment comes on the heels of several senior hires to strengthen agency’s leadership team and build out capabilities

Global independent media agency, Crossmedia, has brought on Doug Schnebel as its new executive client director, head of planning. Joining from UM Worldwide, Doug is a media industry veteran with two decades of experience at both global media agency networks and independent agencies. He brings a wealth of experience to his new role where he will be serving as a client partner and overseeing Crossmedia’s planning team, tasked with evolving and standardising the agency’s planning process across all clients.

“Bringing a fresh perspective and diverse skill set working at media shops big and small, we knew Doug would be an incredible asset to Crossmedia, as we look to continue scaling our business and planning capabilities,” said Crossmedia CEO, Kamran Asghar. “Our mission to ‘do media the right way’ has never been clearer, and we look forward to seeing the impact Doug has on our team and clients.”

In his previous role at UM Worldwide as SVP, managing director, Doug led global planning for American Express across several key verticals and business units. Prior to that, he served as client business lead at PHD, group director at OMD and held several roles at Essence and Mindshare, leading cross-channel media strategies for notable brands including Delta Air Lines, HSBC, Cirque du Soleil, Levi Strauss & Co., Google, Universal Pictures throughout his career.

“I am incredibly excited to re-immerse myself into the independent agency culture at Crossmedia, working with a powerful group of leaders with a shared goal of bringing the agency to its next stage of growth,” said Doug. “Crossmedia prides itself on being nimble, empowering its clients and employees, and being people-first in all aspects of its operations, which is aligned with my exact values. Looking forward to digging in with the team and helping up the ante for Crossmedia.”

Doug’s hire follows several key senior hires for Crossmedia over the past year, most recently bringing on sought-after technologist, Jess Lewis, as chief technology officer, as well as Rachel Ooms, executive client director, Stephen Lee, managing director, data and audience and Jacob Davis, head of biddable. These latest appointments have been working in concert to further enhance the agency’s capabilities and workflow, ensuring the team continues to deliver superior results for clients.

Doug will report to Anne Bologna, chief strategy and integration officer, in his new role.
