El Colony Director Jens Mebe Releases Evocative New Films For Toyota
A set of Toyota films was directed by Jens Mebes in collaboration with the LA based DOP Toia Sempi, and shot in Southern California. Intertrend" wanted to develop a unique and seamless narrative for each spot equating pioneering moments from the past with Toyota's new Hydrogen car as a pioneering moment of the future.
Each spot was built around the idea of introducing a distinct feature of the new, high end Toyota car. Pioneering moments such as the the invention of the number zero for the Mirai's zero emission capability, the World's first compass for the car's distinct navigational features and the first, wood carved print letter as a means to simply introduce a new, carved out vision of the future served as the narrative foundation for the films.
