Commissioned to work on 37 10-minute films along a 2.5-mile stretch of the River Thames
Next weekend, 23 – 24 April 2016, the banks of the Thames will come alive with an extraordinary celebration as Shakespeare’s Globe invites the world to join The Complete Walk celebrating Shakespeare’s life, work and legacy, exactly 400 years on from his death.

37 10-minute films, featuring a host of the world’s greatest actors, have been created for the event. Creators of the films, Shakespeare’s Globe Series Editor and Executive Producer Dominic Dromgoole and Producer Jessica Lusk commissioned Fifty Fifty Post to provide location post, finish and deliver the films to be screened along the iconic 2.5-mile stretch between Westminster Bridge and Tower Bridge.

Each film explores one of Shakespeare’s plays and includes scenes shot in the locations Shakespeare imagined when he wrote them. Picture Cleopatra in front of the Pyramids, Shylock in Venice’s former Jewish Ghetto and Hamlet at Kronborg Castle in Elsinore. These scenes have been combined with extracts from the BFI’s iconic Silent Shakespeare films and Globe On Screen filmed stage productions.

For the massive project, Fifty Fifty supplied two Avid Media Composers and full technical support to Shakespeare’s Globe on London’s Bankside, with a workflow tailored to the tight timeline of the project. Using a linked conform to the Fifty Fifty’s own DS, meant that as soon as the picture was locked the assets were quickly copied to its central ISIS storage in Soho, where the media was linked and ready to work with, without the need to ingest.

The Fifty Fifty team worked on an incredible six and a half hours of footage, which included a bespoke grade for each of the 37 films, noise and graphics adjustments, with full audio and sound design.

The cast includes Simon Russell Beale, Zawe Ashton, Peter Capaldi, Dominic West, James Norton, Olivia Williams, Jonathan Pryce, Phoebe Pryce, Hayley Atwell, Meera Syal, Ben Miles, Jamie Parker, Danny Sapani, Mel Giedroyc, Aidan Gillen, Joshua McGuire, Paul Chahidi, Pauline McLynn, Joseph Marcell, Kenneth Cranham, Tom Burke, David Burke and many more.

A link to the event and details of the cast can be found here, on the Shakespeare’s Globe home page.
