Marie Amiot Joins Rodeo FX as Head of Strategic Development of Animation IP Division

​Rodeo FX, the creative company known for the visual effects of Stranger Things Season 04 and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, is proud to announce the appointment of Marie Amiot as its head of strategic development, Animation IP. With remarkable entrepreneurial experience and a passion for creative innovation, Marie brings unparalleled expertise to the studio’s animation department, which is entering a new phase of development in crafting original stories. ​

Co-founder and CEO of the Montreal school of creativity FACTRY, Marie has led the institution for seven years, rallying individuals around a common goal and thus contributing to the flourishing of creativity in various industries. A key position in a creative world which perfectly embodies her blend of management skills and artistic mind. 

"I am extremely enthusiastic about diving into the world of animation,” says Marie. “It is a medium with limitless potential and unparalleled creative freedom. My goal will be to bring Rodeo's ambition to life, find our unique signature in animation, in sync with the original DNA that distinguishes Rodeo."

As head of strategic development, animation IP, Marie will be tasked with developing and expanding a division that embodies the creative excellence of the company. With a team already renowned for its outstanding achievements, including short films like Itchy the Camel and CANARY, with the latter premiering at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, Marie will seek to elevate the level of artistic ambition while solidifying Rodeo FX's reputation as an emerging player in animation.

CANARY, a short animated tale of childhood, freedom and grief, written and directed by the creative duo PH Dallaire and Ben Therriault, marked a key turning point for Rodeo FX Animation. The short went on around the world, earning recognitions at prestigious events including the Annecy Animation Festival and the VIEW Conference in Turin, as well as winning gold at the 2023 Australian Effects and Animation Festival.
