Wunderman Thompson Argentina launched the Covid-19 animal awareness campaign with NGO Banco de Bosques

‘Banco de Bosques’ is a foundation that channels all donations with the same objective: to save native forests at risk and all the fauna that inhabits them. These donations, however small, turn into the purchase of forest square meters so that other private companies cannot access them. Thanks to everyone’s collaboration, hectares of native forest are instantly saved, and each donor can know exactly where that piece of forest is and that it will continue existing thanks to their contribution.

On Earth Day and throughout the Covid-19 global pandemic, ‘Fundación Banco de Bosques’ - which works to preserve the native forests of Argentina - released a campaign with Wunderman Thompson Argentina, seeking to raise awareness about the preservation of natural habitats and the environment. Using archival videos and local and international media material, the animals can be seen running through empty cities, showing up in new places, and even doing everything that humans cannot do due to isolation. What seems to be a nature miracle perhaps has a much simpler explanation: thousands of animals lost their homes due to deforestation.

Andy Ventura, creative director of Wunderman Thompson Buenos Aires said: “For a few weeks, we have been watching viral videos about how nature became present again due to people’s lockdown. Shores with dolphins, turtles spawning on beaches after seven years, wild animals running through the streets ... a beautiful phenomenon that made us reflect and wonder: is it possible that this appearance is because we have destroyed your home during all these years deforesting, polluting and making profits from natural resources?”
