The world's first interactive, edible exhibition that was designed by children was hosted at The V&A Museum of Childhood, Bethnal Green, London
Kids can be fussy eaters. Only 8% of children in the UK eat their recommended 5 a day. But thanks to a fun culinary exhibition inspired by kids, and made entirely from fruit and vegetables, children are starting to think differently about food. Kids have around 30,000 taste buds compared to adults

As a result, trying new foods can be an intense, and sometimes unpleasant experience. But through play and experimentation, children are more likely to try different foods and accept them.

Over 100 children were given the chance to use their imagination and invent their ultimate food fantasies at a free workshop. Six winning designs were then selected and turned into delicious reality with the help of food wizards Bompas & Parr. From glow in the dark ice cream made from carrots, to edible bubbles made from broccoli and cucumber, and a parsnip tornado to name but a few.

Illustrator Rob Flowers, represented by Blink Art, helped bring the Edible Exhibition to life with a series of posters and invitations that were also entirely edible and each with their own unique flavour. Every aspect of the printing process, from the edible paper to the multi-flavoured inks, was custom-made for the exhibition in collaboration with Bompas & Parr. The posters went on display at the museum and there were postcards for visitors to take away.

The Edible Exhibition was hosted at The V&A Museum of Childhood, Bethnal Green, London in October and developed with AMV BBDO.
