From Friendly Competitors to Partners: The Producible Story

LBB’s Casey Martin spoke to David Flannagan, director of strategy/creative, and Marc Collister, managing director, about their new journey
With over 40 years of experience in the industry, P2 Content Creators and DMC Digital have officially joined forces to create Producible, a new full-service agency focused on building confidence within brands.

The conversation started in 2021 when the world was still very affected by COVID. DMC Digital and P2 have always been in ‘friendly competition’ with each other, according to Marc. 

In an effort to see how both companies could benefit from their combined experience, Marc says they decided to move in together but not get married. 

A few years after this decision, happy nuptials emerged and today, P2 and DMC Digital will forever be known as Producible. With Marc and David at the helm of Producible, their combined skills in production and strategy have created an agency that allows for quick decision making to the benefit of the client. 

“The combination of our skills is what still excites me about this official decision to merge,” David said. 

DMC Digital brought with it several high-volume clients, while P2 worked on a more bespoke, one-of-project system. Combining these two teams posed little to no challenges. Both teams jump between projects when possible, keeping not only the work interesting but also the creatives interested. 

“I’ve noticed the blend of teams with different experience and background, junior teams, senior teams, it’s good to blend those dynamics. There’s knowledge shared on both sides. How to do things faster and more efficiently and then where craft and quality comes in” said David. 

As one company, their role is to ensure that what the client wants and needs as a marketing strategy is producible. Their main aim is to instil confidence within a brand.

“We’re reliable, we know what we are doing, we’ve got the experience behind us and we’re nice people. We want to forge that camaraderie. We turn up as the experts that we are and have frank conversations.” David noted. 

Producible’s  offering doesn’t stop at a TVC or a billboard, they work with clients on all things. They consider how a brand campaign will translate into multiple different platforms. They encourage clients to look at the big picture, their websites, their socials, their ad campaigns, whatever it may be to build that confidence.  
 
“We make sure it's a holistic view of everything, not just this cool piece of work that's only doing part of the job. We want to make sure it’s all done,” noted Marc. 

When working with agencies, Producible has the ability to understand this process. Once given the brief from an agency, it’s an easy fit into production. 

Marc and David encourage brands not to be shy when it comes to budget. By nature, Producible understands the law and order of the advertising industry. They understand that everyone is looking to maximise their budgets, it’s important to Producible to have a clear understanding in order to make the right decisions for the brand and the company itself. 

Producible has a focus on the long term aspects of marketing. They are constantly thinking about the next step, how a scene in a TVC, for example, can be used a few months down the track to elevate the marketing strategy. 

David likes to say that their goal is to ‘produce once in order to publish many.’ 

The Producible dynamic is unique within the commercial creativity sector. Not only do they have copywriters and designers but they also have motion graphics, animators and all things post production. 

With a new name, a confident team and the ability to work on budgets both big and small, it is safe to say that the marriage between P2 and DMC will most definitely be a happy one.
